Picture imperfect
I feel this way a lot lately.
Eyebrows trying to meet eyelids.
Hiding the frown as best as I can.
It never fools anyone.
People tell you to "smile,"
Which only makes it worse.
I haven't been interested in taking photos lately.
Which ... I'm not sure is usual.
Which is to say I'm not sure it's unusual either.
I can't tell if this feeling is the backlash of a year of daily snapping ...
Or the aging of my subjects and their apparent desire to be left alone ...
Or something else. Something within me that's had enough.
The thing I'm starting to notice, though, is an inkling of wanting to get it back.
